Quote O' the Day
Saturday, June 21When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. ~Author Unknown
The pink flower above is in honor of Beverly's Pink Saturday post! Cielo at her House in the Roses is having a garden tour today...go over and visit to stroll through beautiful paths, smell gorgeous flowers, and admire luscious landscaping ( and you won't have to weed a bit!!!)
...the garden at kijsa's house was laid out in the late 1920s by a landscape designer flown over from England for this special job featuring brick paths, sunken beds, and a fish pond. It was quite lovely in it's heyday, (we were told) and now enjoys the tatters of age and love!!!
There are four original gates in the back yard, so here is a glimpse through the garden gate(s)...Perfection is not the goal, but the feeling of wonder, strolling through a magical escape...where, over the decades, many have walked and children have played...

Omigosh. I love that quote. So true. I love my secreat garden although it does not have a gate. Love the garden gates, so inviting. Isn't it funny that I've never seen a gate as saying, "Stay out", I've always seen it as an invitation to imagine what's on the other side.
